Chapter Developments Summits 2019

The MAES Chapter Development Summit is a regional event focused exclusively on bringing together the elected officers of neighboring student chapters.  The targeted audience of the event makes it unique and value-added when compared to the other national MAES events.  By bringing together several neighboring chapters it will allow for the sharing of best practices, foster communication and collaboration, and strengthen the sense of familia that MAES is known for.

The event will focus resources on strengthening existing chapters and promote the development of new ones.  It also positions student chapters, regardless of geography, to have both a regional and national presence.

The event is meant to supplement and enhance the already existing strategy sessions and officer retreats that most student chapters individually host.  The event will connect student chapters with professionals in the area that can serve as advisors to the chapter as they develop and implement a strategic plan for the upcoming academic year.  The professionals in attendance will also serve as mentors, helping to bridge the gap between leadership theory and the use of practical tools by each student chapter.  The smaller audience of the event will also allow for opportunities to provide in depth and specific feedback on these plans.

The event has a series of objectives and guiding principles. They include:
